SOAC Junior Tennis Summer Camp
This camp is designed for kids aged 6-12 year olds that have little experience up to intermediate playing experience. This camp will introduce all the fundamentals of tennis to your kids. We will teach and train basic technique on groundstrokes, both forehand and backhand, serving, and volleying. Players will learn the fundamentals through games, drills, and match play. By the end of the week each player should know and understand basic strokes and how to keep score while playing a match. Other items that your child will learn are:
- Physical movement/exercise
- Team work
- Hand eye coordination
- and much more!
The SOAC tennis camp includes 16 hours of fun on court instruction lead by our Director of Tennis, Luke Richardson. Classes will be divided by age. By the end of the camp your player will be able to execute basic strokes, serve better, start to understand the mental part of the game while starting to develop a life long love for tennis!
Parents are responsible for providing a tennis racket, sunscreen, water, additional daily snack (We will provide one small snack daily), hats, towels, and athletic shoes/clothes. We will provide everything else!
Here is an example of our daily itinerary
7:55-8:10 Check in
8:15-8:45 Roll call and warm up (body/coordination)
8:50-9:30 Stroke development and tennis movement
9:35-10:15 Control drills fed and live ball
10:15-10:50 Snack break
10:50-11:30 Live ball games
11:30-12:00 Serve and return fundamentals
12:00- Pick up
