Junior Tennis Program

We believe strongly in a true Junior Tennis Program, not simply lesson groups, but a connected and intentional program. Our focus is on developing players who hold their heads high, battle to improve their game, and develop a lifelong love of tennis.

Our approach to junior development is grounded in more than 30 years of junior tennis programming built and led by Johnny Walhborg. During that time, hundreds of junior players have come through his programs. From collegiate scholarship athletes to late bloomers who earned spots on their high-school teams, the program has maintained a consistent approach to player development.

This proven philosophy helps guide the structure and long-term vision of the SOAC Junior Program.

The SOAC Junior Tennis Program serves players of all ages and ability levels. While players may train on different days and at different times, all players are part of one unified Junior Tennis Program. Beyond training, we believe strongly in building camaraderie and connection within the program. Opportunities to do so include Saturday Play Days, LSU Match Days, & Match Play against other Junior Programs in the surrounding area.

ENROLLMENT AND ATTENDANCE POLICY

To get the most improvement out of our students, our program runs on a semester basis. Monthly rates are not prorated for illness, travel, or individual absences. If a child must miss multiple practices, please get in touch with staff so we may find a solution. “Players must get the time to improve”. Consistency is the key to success!

We will have scheduled makeup time each month to account for weather disruptions. In months with unusual weather disruptions, the schedule may be evaluated and additional opportunities added when appropriate.

Students new to the SOAC Junior Program are welcome to attend a practice at no cost before committing to the full semester. To schedule a new student practice, please email [email protected].
